Honor your mother

Honor her for all that her hands have done, and let her works bring her praise at the city gate. [Proverbs 31:31 ]
Mothers has a great part in our lives. There are numerous things they can do which we cannot even imagine how. This is the reason why in Proverbs 31, their worth were described as precious which is far more than rubies, and we have to give them honor for the works of their hands.
In the book of Ephesians, a commandment was given, "Children, obey your parents in the Lord, because this is right. Honor your father and mother which is the first commandment with a promise - that it may go well with you and that you may have a long life." [Ephesians 6:1-3]

God made a promise to us that if we honor them, everything will go well with us and we will have a long life. Each of us would like to live a long and prosperous life, and giving them high respect is the key to it'sĀ fulfillment and to make the word come alive in us.
What a Mother can do?
She can be a Nurse when someone get sick
She gives a free Cleaning/laundry service for the family.
She is the best Chef of the family.
She is the brave Referee in the house.
She is the Teacher who taught us our first ABC & 123.
She is a Psychic who knows when youāre not feeling okay.
She is the Investigator who find missing things at home.
She is the Concierge who we always ask for all the stuffs in the house.
And many more.

Simple ways to Honor our Mothers.
Listen.
We, younger people sometimes think that we are wiser enough to neglect and never listen their advice. Always remember, the older people gets, the wiser they become. They know and experience a lot of things in life more than you do. Make her feel valuable by listening to Her attentively.
Understand.
We all know that they are not getting any younger. They experience a lot of changes as they aged physically, mentally and emotionally. Show that you understand Her just like the way she understands you in your stubbornness and childish attitude when you were young and even now.
Help.
We as children become so much busy in our own lives that we forget to give her help in simple ways. Donāt act like youāre doing her a favor and she is a bother to you when she asked for your help. Remember, she took care of you your whole life. Help her wholeheartedly and joyfully.
Never take her for granted.
Because we get used on her presence inside the house, we sometimes forget to express our gratitude to her. Have you ever thanked and hug her even thereās no special event? Do not hold back to show how grateful you are for having her by your side.
Love her unconditionally.
Love her when she has so much to do for you and when she has nothing more to offer you. Love her while sheās young and strong and still love her when she gets old and weak. We didnāt know how much they sacrificed for us to be someone who we are today. Love her unconditionally.

For them, our comfort and convenience is their priority. There are mothers who almost forget their selves and their own needs just to make sure their family are in good condition. Their responsibility being mother is not easy as we thought. They are doing their very best to do a task which they didn't even learned from school. Even they get blisters and wounds from doing laundry and cooking, even if they get back pains from taking care of you, they will never get tired to do it every day.Ā
āMany women do noble things, but you surpass them all.ā Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised. [Proverbs 31: 29-30]
Physical beauty will fade but the inner beauty that a woman contain will last forever. For every woman who fear God deserves to be honored. Honoring them is also making them feel that they are truly loved and valued, even while they are young until they gets old. Even when they can give so much or even when they have nothing left. For younger generation, everyone would like to live well and have a long life but we must understand that Godās promise has a commandment which we have to obey for our own good.
I know thatĀ not everyone of us is having a good relationship with their mothers, others are too shy or maybe afraid to express their thoughts and feelings with them which creates distance and misunderstandings. But one things is for sure, every mother has a soft side which you also have to discover as their child. Try taking a chance to sit with them and open the doors of your heart, for them to feel that you care and wanting the best relationship you could ever have. Trying is not the same as loosing, trying is the best tool to know what the other side of the door can offer you.
